Inflation rise in Bulgaria has been slowing down

A slight slowdown in inflation is expected in Bulgaria in the second quarter of the year. According to the Ministry of Finance's regular survey among financial intermediaries, different banks give mixed estimates on whether there would be a strong or slight increase in inflation, it would remain unchanged or there would be a slight decline.

These expectations coincide with the reported slowdown in inflation in the country, which began in the last quarter of the past year and continued in 2023. Experts predict a slowdown in economic growth and a rise in interest rates, especially in BGN and EUR. The trend will be observed in both loans and deposits, and banks expect a reduction in the rates for lending.
