The Ukrainian embassy in Sofia has expressed gratitude to Bulgaria for the help extended to the temporarily displaced persons from Ukraine, many of whom children.

On the occasion of International Children’s Day, June 1, the embassy of Ukraine wishes all children in Bulgaria a sunny, peaceful and carefree childhood. The people of Ukraine and the children of Ukraine, with all of their goodwill to friends and neighbours, know well what it means to lose your peaceful life, and have the heartfelt desire to never see anyone go through the horrors of modern war, the Ukrainian embassy writes. On International Children’s Day we cannot but mention that for 15 months, the youngest Ukrainians have been deprived of their joy of life, the opportunity of studying, playing, sleeping during the night in peace, the Ukrainian embassy says.

According to official data, 484 children have been killed in Ukraine, and 1,472 have been injured since the beginning of the war.
