MP Radostin Vasilev charged with attempted coercion

The prosecutor's office has brought charges against MP Radostin Vasilev, accusing him of trying to force former MP Hristinka Ivanova to leave the parliamentary group of ITN (There is Such a People) and the parliament. 

The information about the 2022 threats comes from records released by the then chairman of the parliamentary group of ITN Toshko Yordanov. If found guilty, Vassilev could be sentenced to up to 6 years in prison. The MP called the accusations "false".

The name of Radostin Vassilev recently made headlines with the recording he made of an online meeting of the National Council of "We Continue the Change" (PP) party. After its distribution, the MP left the parliamentary group pf PP and became an independent MP.
