An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter was registered 15 km southeast of the city of Plovdiv, indicate data of the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre. The epicentre of the earthquake was north of Asenovgrad.
The earthquake occured at 15.26 pm at a depth of 4.5 km. It was also felt in Sofia. Six minutes after the earthquake, an aftershock of magnitude 2.1 on the Richter scale was registered. The earthquake was felt strongly in Plovdiv. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury. The residents of the village of Krumovo, which is located in close proximity to the epicentre of the earthquake, are very scared, Mayor Rumiana Samokovareva said for BNR-Plovdiv.
