Almost a quarter of a million real estate purchase and sale transactions were made in Bulgaria during the past year.

Real estate agents have registered an increase in the number of Bulgarians investing in property abroad, with 10,000 Bulgarians having purchased real estate in Greece in the past ten years. Nevena Stoyanova, head of an agency for luxury properties says that what clients are after when purchasing real estate in Greece is for the property to be close to nature and in a less built-up area. According to statistics, nine in ten Bulgarians own real estate, that is why the world crisis is not having a particularly strong effect on the real estate market in this country. There is a tendency of buying property in Dubai where the market is flexible and more open to capital from all over the world.
