Ivan Geshev spoke before MEPs about cases related to Boyko Borisov

The hearing of Bulgaria's prosecutor general Ivan Geshev in Strasbourg at the request of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs in the European Parliament was on topics from 2 years ago - the origin of the funds in the "Barcelonagate" and "Cekmedjeta" cases (related to the leader of GERB Boyko Borisov - note ed.), said MEP Petar Vitanov. 

According to him, Geshev spoke for 20 minutes and the result will be reflected in the annual monitoring report on the rule of law in Bulgaria. 
The only Bulgarian MEP - a member of the monitoring committee in the EP for fighting corruption at the highest levels of power, Elena Yoncheva, said that she heard worrying information from Ivan Geshev about the situation in Bulgaria. 

"GERB and EPP supported the chief prosecutor for years, but the moment he started to give more information on the investigation of various cases, they suddenly tried to shut his mouth", she commented.
