There is no evidence of pollution in the Bulgarian Black Sea following the destruction of the Nova Kakhovka dam on the Dnipro River in Ukraine, the Ministry of Environment and Water announced.

Bulgarian, Ukrainian, Moldovan and Romanian authorities are exchanging information on a daily basis about potential pollution in the Black Sea, the Ministry said. Apart from that, the Black Sea Basin Directorate and the Executive Environment Agency are monitoring for additional indicators for possible pollution.

Satellite observation and mathematical modelling of the water currents in the Black Sea do not indicate any cause for concern at this point. "If a risk is detected, preventive actions will be taken and the population will be informed," the environment ministry also stressed.
