Poli Hubavenska, the singer whose voice is familiar from her many collaborations with world-renowned DJs, including Armin van Buuren, has released a new song - "Light of the Sun". The lyrics are in Bulgarian and English. The music again mixes folk motifs, which is Poli's trademark. The singer has repeatedly received messages from her foreign fans asking her to translate a folk song so they can understand what she is singing about. With "Light of the Sun," the ethnic rhythm takes a step up so foreign audiences can get the message, too.
In "Light of the Sun" Poli Hubavenska works with the master of subtle musical expression Yavor Rusinov. Being one of the founders of Bulgaro and part of the team of YAKU - the ethno project of Kurt Hauenstein's (best known for the 1979 hit "It Ain't Easy", and "Lovemachine"), Rusinov vibrates on the same creative wavelength, as the singer. The composer proposes the musical idea, and Poli instantly recognizes the potential and sees the direction it should take.
Having lived and worked in the UK for years, Polí Hubavenska admits that she is not the kind of singer who would make songs just to release something new. That's why she has devoted so much time and attention to this project. Here's what else Polly has to say: "Light of the Sun" is a song with summer vibes. Its message is: look on the bright side of life and have the courage and the energy to start doing all those things you've dreamed of; pay more attention to that little spark of impulse inside us that is at the heart of striving to do whatever our soul desires."
It's the light of the sun/Слънце ми грее високо,
Light it up and feel the flame/ високо и на широко
Shining over the sky/ Слънце ми грее високо
Now it's the time to feel the flame,
To feel the flame...
