President Rumen Radev disagrees with Bulgaria's military support for Ukraine

If Bulgaria joins the agreement to provide 1 million shells to Ukraine, this will be a mistake, President Rumen Radev told journalists at an ecoforum in Sofia.

"You see the conflict escalating, bringing huge risks, draining our economies and social systems. I have argued both in Bulgaria and in Brussels that our country should not interfere by providing weapons in the war in Ukraine. This is not the way to end this conflict", asserts Radev.

Bulgaria's Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov commented from Pamporovo that Radev's position on support for Ukraine was contradictory, that there was a human tragedy there, which would not stop until a just peace is established, and Bulgaria must be consistent in implementing the decisions of the parliament to provide military assistance to Kyiv.
