Bulgaria misses the victory over Serbia in the last seconds of the match for Euro-2024

In Razgrad, the Bulgarian national football team played an unexpectedly strong home match against the Serbian team. The guests were considered favourites in the match. The Bulgarians lost the victory at the last second and had to settle for only a point with the draw of 1:1. 

Kiril Despodov scored the first goal in the 47th minute, and in the 6th minute of added time, the reserve Darko Lazovic scored an equalizing goal.


Bulgaria v Serbia was Mladen Krstajić's eighth match in charge of the team since he was appointed in July 2022. In these matches, Bulgaria has 3 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats.

After the next round and the result of the match Hungary-Lithuania (2:0), the Hungarians and the Serbs are at the top of Group G of the qualifiers for Euro-2024 with 7 points each. 

Montenegro has 4 points and Bulgaria is in 4th place with 2 points. The Lithuanians are last with only 1 point.
