Over the next seven years, more than BGN 1.5 billion (EUR 765 million) will be invested in measures under the transport connectivity program, as the measures are important for improving the climate and for the implementation of green policies, Minister of Transport Georgi Gvozdeikov said at the CEE Green Transition Forum in Sofia.

According to the minister, over 306 million euros will be used to improve the railway infrastructure, out of a total of over EUR 510 million of funds from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. By 2026, this country needs to complete the modernization of railway transport, the minister said. He added that serious investments in the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles should be considered.
