Four Bessarabian Bulgarians have laid down their lives for the freedom of Ukraine

Four Bessarabian Bulgarians from Bolhrad region have been killed at the war front in June, the website of the Bolhrad regional state administration has announced.

Colonel Alexander Makaev from the town of Bolhrad is Bulgarian on his mother’s side. As of 2020, he headed the civilian-military department at the Odessa command South.

Alexander Abazhi, 44, from Bolhrad was killed in action in Donetsk region.

Dmitry Dimchev from Teplitsa village died at the front at the age of 28, as part of Ukraine’s landing force.

Ivan Dimitrov, also from the Ukrainian landing force, was killed during the fighting in Donetsk region, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports.
