The supergroup The Legends, made up of rockstars Yordan Karadzhov from Signal, Dimitar Karnev from D2, Konstantin Tsekov from FSB and Stanislav Slanev - Stanley, is on a national tour. Besides hits from the last decades, the musicians also perform the first original song of the supergroup called "Legend of Love".
Between the two legs of the tour, we sought out the songwriter Dimitar Karnev to ask him how he came up with the idea for the song. He didn't hide his excitement about working with the band: "It is a sheer joy for me to perform these great songs - notes Dimitar Karnev to Radio Bulgaria. - I can tell you that after the concerts I feel so energized, not least because I perform them together with three of the most iconic Bulgarian singers, but also because we sound like an ensemble. I really like The Legends as a music fan, besides being a member. And I was sure this group had potential - we liked each other and sounded so good together that I knew we could try a new song."
Dimitar Karnev's bandmates from The Legends were quite skeptical about performing a new song. They were singing hits - some of them 40-50 years old or at least 20 years old, as in the case of D2's songs. A new song would mean a whole other level of challenge, people would be more discerning in their judgement. Dimitar Karnev suggested that they give him a chance to compose music that would combine the styles of all their bands, and if The Legends liked it, they would do it. He wrote "Legend of Love", especially for Yordan Karadzhov, Konstantin Tsekov and Stanley:
"Not only did I have them in mind, but they were my inspiration. For they had already given me a lot in this collaboration as musical partners. That's what made this task less difficult - to create this song."
