Bulgaria’s National Assembly has mandated the government to speed up the process of renewing the Ministry of Defence's wartime stocks of weapons, ammunition, explosives and pyrotechnics by replacing them with newly manufactured ones.

The motion was submitted by the MPs from GERB-SDS, We Contiue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF). The bulk of the ammunition available in the Bulgarian Armed Forces was manufactured between the 1970s to the 1990s, or even earlier, GERB-SDS, PP-DB and MRF said.
