Bulgaria must upgrade its armed forces, Premier Nikolay Denkov said after the end of the first day of the NATO Summit in Lithuania.  "We are increasing the number of NATO troops in Bulgaria 4 times. The multinational battle group is to be upgraded to a brigade level. According to NATO's standards, the battlegroup consists of nearly 1,300 soldiers and the brigade comprises 5,000 servicemen", Bulgaria’s Prime Minister explained.

"Ukraine will become a member of NATO when possible. This will happen when members agree and conditions are met", Nikolay Denkov said with regard to NATO’s decision in Vilnius.

"We do not support the use of cluster bombs, but Russia has systematically used such bombs in Ukraine and Syria", Premier Denkov said.
