The national Pleven-Karlovo trail begins, for the 29th time, on the eve of the birthday of Bulgaria’s national hero Vasil Levski, the Apostle of Freedom.

250 participants, aged 3 to 77, will take part in it, following 7 different itineraries. They will all arrive in Karlovo, the town where Vasil Levski was born, on 18 July, when celebrations will take place to mark 186 years since his birth.
