In Parliament: GERB leader Borissov heads Foreign Policy committee, PP-DB co-chair Petkov - EU Affairs

Three months after its start, the 49th National Assembly elected the chairs of 22 out of 25 parliamentary standing committees. The largest number of committees, 14, will be chaired by GERB-SDS, the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) - 5, and We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria (PP-DB) - 3 committees.

Vazrazhdane Party, the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) and There is Such a People (ITN) boycotted the procedure by refusing to nominate their representatives, and left the chamber. They accused the majority of backroom deals

GERB leader Boyko Borissov headed the Committew on Foreign Policy and PP co-chair Kiril Petkov the EU Affairs Committee. Among the committees headed by GERB are also the The Committee on Constitutional Affairs chaired by Radomir Cholakov. Daniel Mitov headed Committee for Control of the Security Services, and Hristo Gadzhev - the Committee on Defence. The Committee on Budget and Finance will be chaired by Jordan Tzonev from the MRF.
