Sozopol mayor Tihomir Yanakiev extended invitations to all representatives of the tourist industry to swim together so as to demonstrate the crystal-clear water of the sea.

The unorthodox initiative in support of Bulgaria’s Black Sea coastline took place at 8 AM this morning on Sozopol’s central beach. The idea to swim in the sea, launched by mayor Yanakiev, comes in response to the propaganda questioning the quality of the sea water, and aims to popularize Bulgaria’s sea resorts, particularly in Sozopol municipality. For a consecutive year, the central beach in Sozopol is holder of a “blue flag” award.
