There is a 5 kilometer-long line and drivers are waiting for more than 2 days, local authorities told the Bulgarian National Radio. Traffic via the village of Kardam has become more intense after Romania banned vehicles over 7.5 tons from passing through the Durankulak border checkpoint. There is busy outbound lorry traffic at the Danube Bridge 2 near Vidin.

Outbound car traffic at Malko Tarnovo checkpoint at the Bulgaria-Turkiye border is also busy, the Border Police said. There is busy inbound traffic at the Kalotina border checkpoint at the Bulgaria-Serbia border. Traffic at the border crossings with Greece and North Macedonia is normal. Bulgaria’s Border Police advises tourists to comply with the regulations at the border areas, not lo leave children unattended and have enough water and other essentials.
