"The Brief Life and Mysterious Death of Boris III, King of Bulgaria" told at the Bulgarian Embassy in London

The Bulgarian Embassy in London presented scenes from the theatre play "The Brief Life & Mysterious Death of Boris III, King of Bulgaria", dedicated to Boris III - the last Bulgarian Tzar. The play is staged by the English Out Of The Forest Theatre, which seeks to show the audience little-known historical events, reports the website bulgarianembassy-london.org.

Scenes from the play were shown and the actors sang songs from the play in Bulgarian and Hebrew. A question-and-answer session followed, with Ambassador Marin Raykov, Kyril, Prince of Preslav, Boris III's Grandson, and diplomats and guests taking part.

The play was written by Joseph Cullen and Sasha Wilson. They said that the idea for the script came after they came across the book "Crown of Thorns" by writer and journalist Stefan Gruev and learned about the rescue of Bulgarian Jews during World War II. The presentation of the play at the Embassy is part of the programme to mark the 80th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews.
