Responding to a query from Yambol Governor Bilyana Kavaldjieva, Bulgarian Military Minister Todor Tagarev said that there are no plans to open a NATO multinational division headquarters near Yambol.
The reason for the inquiry was last night's protest and the initiated petition against the construction of NATO bases in Kabile and Bezmer military units. The protest actions were organized by the local structure of The Left! coalition.
In his reply to the governor, Minister Todor Tagarev stated that the site of the multinational battle group was currently being analysed. Tagarev draws attention to the benefits of the deployment of the multinational battle group, in the region, among which are significant investments in roads, sanitation, social and other infrastructure, improvement of the business climate, creation of new jobs.
