Exhibition shows Varna as seen through the eyes of refugees from Ukraine

Photo: BTA

27 original photographs by nine Ukrainian youths are arranged in the small art salon of BNR-Varna. The exhibition is titled "Varna - I See Your Beauty" and opens on the eve of the city's holiday on 15 August.

The exhibition is part of a project to support Ukrainian refugees, funded by UNICEF.
Since the beginning of the year, an amateur photographers' training club has been established in Varna, with the idea of involving more young people and teenagers from the Ukrainian refugee community and, through their favourite pastime - photography, socialising them to create friendships with their peers. The "Blue Dot" refugee support centre, also working in this direction, is supported by volunteers from the Bulgarian Red Cross.
All the photos in the exhibition are of landscapes from Varna and it is interesting to see how the refugees see their host city as their second home. The Bulgarian Red Cross-Varna notes that everyone in the club is now friends, as was the original intention. They do not hide their hope to attract Ukrainian youth as volunteers for other causes included in the program of the BRC.
