Head of a department in the Ministry of Interior arrested over corruption

Pavel Marinov, head of the Migration Department at the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior in Razgrad, was arrested in connection with a corruption investigation, the Ministry of the Interior has reported.

During an operation by the "Internal Security" Directorate at the Ministry of Interior and the Prosecutor's Office, two more persons complicit in the committed crime were detained, as well as two women who provided translation services. According to investigators, the case is about a criminal scheme in which two persons mediated the recruitment of candidates for obtaining a type D visa, giving the right to long-term residence in Bulgaria.
