The government has notified Lukoil Neftohim Bugras that, as of 15 August, the refinery has 30 days to hand over Port Rosenets.

If Lukoil refuses to hand the facility over, the minister of transport shall request that the regional governor of Burgas repossess the terminal in accordance with the State Property Act. The government has assigned, within two weeks of the withdrawal of the concession, the operational management of the terminal facilities and the port services to be assumed by the state-run Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company.

Lukoil’s concession contract was terminated by force of a National Assembly decision for applying the restrictive measures connected with Russia’s war in Ukraine.
