A study by the "Children's Books" Foundation, conducted in the period May-June 2023, sought an answer to the question of whether parents in Bulgaria find time to read books to their children.

1,100 parents of children from 0 to 6 years of age were surveyed. 99% of parents surveyed claimed to have a home library, but only 1.4% read regularly to their children.

Over 70% of parents indicate that they choose books with beautiful layout and illustrations for their children, books with fairy tales are bought by 53% of parents, encyclopedias are a favorite choice of 45%.

The respondents who took part in the research are mainly from the big cities and with higher education. The information is from BNR Sofia.
