Representatives of Vazrazhdane political party have asked the Ministry of the Interior to strengthen security in the area of the Monument to the Soviet Army, especially at night. According to Deyan Nikolov - the candidate for mayor of Sofia from Vazrazhdane, among the attackers of the tent camp next to the monument was a politician from the recent past. According to Nikolov, the politician, together with a lawyer, provided food and legal protection to the attackers, including a criminal. The perpetrators were released from the district, so the concerns of Vazrazhdane are about more than hooliganism.

Nikolov called for a peaceful resolution of the dispute surrounding the Monument to the Soviet Army and not to allow violence to be the tool used to resolve this issue.

"This is a monument that preserves the historical memory of Bulgaria and does not represent the policy of the Soviet Union, the current geopolitical situation, nor is it a symbol of the policy of Russia," the candidate for mayor of Sofia also pointed out.

According to him, the monument is a symbol of people who gave their lives against an ideology - fascism.

Deyan Nikolov stated that the tents in front of the Monument will remain as an expression of a civil position.
