Bulgaria defending its world title in rhythmic gymnastics

In the period August 23 to 27th, the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships will be held in the Spanish city of Valencia. Bulgaria will be represented by Boryana Kaleyn, Stiliyana Nikolova, Eva Brezalieva and an ensemble consisting of Zhenina Trashlieva, Sofia Ivanova, Kamelia Petrova, Rachel Stoyanov and Radina Tomova.

The ensemble competition is expected to become a battle between Bulgaria and Israel, which finished first and second at the 2022 World Championships and this year's European Championships in Baku. Bulgaria is also the current Olympic gold medalist. The competition is a qualification for the Olympic Games in Paris 2024 and European champion Boryana Kaleyn will compete for a quota. Bulgaria has already secured a quota after Stiliyana Nikolova won bronze in the all-around event during the World Championships in Sofia in 2023.
