Bulgaria has received strong support for its accession to Schengen, the Eurozone and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development from EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, as well as from German and Czech foreign ministers Annalena Baerbock and Jan Lipavsky.

This happened during talks with Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel within the framework of the informal meeting of the foreign ministers of the EU countries in Toledo, dedicated to the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the situation in Niger and the Sahel.

During the forum, Mariya Gabriel emphasized the strategic importance of the Black Sea region and highlighted the importance of the G-7 joint declaration in support of Ukraine and the need for more diplomatic efforts for President Volodymyr Zelensky's "Peace Formula".

In a meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister expressed the solidarity of Bulgaria with Ukraine and its people.
