Tsarevo Municipality announced Wednesday (September 6) as a day of mourning in memory of the victims of the floods. The festive concert on the occasion of the Unification Day has been cancelled. The clergy will offer a prayer for health and salvation in the coastal town, the BNR’s correspondent Daniela Kostadinova reported.

Two people have died and two are missing. There are no reports of people in distress on the territory of Tsarevo Municipality. The road to Varvara and Ahtopol is open and the bridge is passable. The road to Sinemorets remains closed due to a flooded bridge. Arrangements have been made to supply food and drinks to the people in Sinemorets. Access to the village of Kosti in Strandzha Mountain remains difficult. No deterioration of the meteorologial situation is expected.

Primorsko Municipality also cancelled the festive events on the occasion of the Unification Day, because of the state of disaster declared in the neighboring municipality of Tsarevo. September 6 will only be marked with a wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Vasil Levski. Other Bulgarian towns also cancelled their festive programs.
