Ministry of Foreign Affairs: No Bulgarians reported injured in the floods in Volos

No Bulgarians were injured or in distress during the floods in Volos, Greece, Bulgaria's foreign ministry announced. The Consulate General of Bulgaria in Thessaloniki maintains contact and provides assistance to all people in coordination with the local authorities.


Six people have died so far and at least as many are still missing after storm Daniel triggered landslides and destroyed roads and bridges in central Greece. The port city of Volos, the surrounding mountainous region of Pelion and the towns of Karditsa and Trikala are the worst affected areas. 
As of Tuesday, 820 people have been evacuated across the country, 750 of them in the Thessaly region.
