On 8 and 9 September, eight alternative bands - seven Bulgarian and one American performed in Varna at the REBEL REBEL By The Sea Edition festival. For the third year in a row, the creative association Projector Plus brought together artists and their admirers, for whom music is courage, rebellion and friendship.

On the first night, multi-instrumentalist Grisha Georgiev, known as GREESH, took to the stage, as well as Sofia-based alternative groove metal band HELLION STONE, the honest rebellious songs of No More Many More and special guests of the festival - Animatsionerite, a landmark Bulgarian band from the early 2000s.

The second night, 9 September, featured the young but already recognisable band Scotopia, TROPE - a progressive rock band from Hollywood, rock and roll band LEK CITY CASE and SOUNDPROPHET - a band whose concept is based on messages of trust in art, respect and unity between man and music.

Festival organiser Denica Slavova said: "REBEL REBEL is a festival that we are organising for the third year in a row. The first time it was held in Varna, on the seashore, which is why we called it By The Sea. When selecting bands to perform at the festival, we follow one very simple rule - they should be bands close in spirit to Projector Plus, our independent association of alternative artists, which has been established in Bulgaria 3-4 years ago. It consists of like-minded bands with common ideas and mission, with rebelliousness running in their veins, with very high quality music. REBEL REBEL By The Sea Edition festival is a kind of business card for Projector Plus. This year we had a special guest, Animatsionerite. I avoid calling them headliners because everyone is very important - we are friends and that stops us from such definitions. Music reigns as the only thing we're guided by."
