EP to vote Iliana Ivanova’s nomination for European commissioner

The European Parliament is expected to vote the nomination of Iliana Ivanova as Bulgaria’s next European commissioner today.

The nomination has already been voted by two European Parliament committees, and the Conference of Presidents has decided to close the hearing process of the Bulgarian nominee. The chairs of the parliamentary committees described the hearing as excellent. Ivanova is expected to be appointed commissioner for innovation, research, culture, education and youth until the end of the European Commission’s term in 2024.
