Strong and efficient connectivity requires well-developed infrastructure and the unimpeded movement of people and goods. The accession of Bulgaria and Romania to Schengen will contribute to increasing sustainability and prosperity throughout the region and Europe. This was stated by Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Croatia after a meeting of their foreign ministers within the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.

"The meeting is of significant importance. The four countries are members of the EU and NATO and this makes regional cooperation even more significant," Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel said. Among the topics discussed at the meeting were the "Three Seas" initiative, regional and economic connectivity. The four countries pointed out priorities such as the construction of the North-South transport corridor, the connection of transport infrastructure and energy diversification.
