Appeal by President Radev on the International Day of Older Persons

On the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, President Rumen Radev called on people to lend a hand to the elderly. He wrote on Facebook that the society we want to be does not abandon its elderly, but guarantees them the right to a dignified old age with adequate income, medical care and social protection.

"Being an elderly person has a new meaning today as the world ages. Growing old in good health, with energy for life and new experiences is a personal choice, but also a major objective for policies for older people. Caught up in the daily little tasks and big battles, we forget about the people to whom we owe our lives, our first steps, our first words, our first dreams. Reach out to an elderly person and remind them of the confidence and strength of youth. Give time and attention to your senior loved ones," Radev wrote.
