Minister of Defence Todor Tagarev visits Brussels to attend NATO-Ukraine Council meeting

On 11 and 12 October 2023, Minister of Defence Todor Tagarev will participate in the regular meeting of the Ministers of Defence of NATO member states. The forum will discuss key decisions related to the Alliance's deterrence and defence capabilities taken at the July 2023 Summit in Vilnius, Lithuania, as well as preparations for the upcoming 2024 Summit in Washington.

The Summit will also host the first NATO-Ukraine Council meeting at Defence Minister level, where Ukraine's Defence Minister Rustem Umerov will provide an update on the war and the country's reform plans. The defence ministers will also consider the implementation of the multiannual programme of assistance to Ukraine approved at the Vilnius summit.
