Scientists from Bulgaria in top 2% of scientists in the world

Twenty-two scientists from St. Kliment Ohridski University, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and other Bulgarian higher education institues are among the top 2% scientists in the world for 2023, indicates an annual updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators in 22 scientific fields and 174 sub-fields.  

The database of top-cited scientists provides standardized information on citations, h-index, co-authorship adjusted hm-index, citations to papers in different authorship positions and a composite indicator (c-score). The database includes millions of researchers from all over the world. 

From St. Kliment Ohridski University Prof. Nikolay V. Vitanov (general physics) is in 193rd position, Prof. Ivan Hristov (optoelectronics) is in 317th, Assoc. Prof. Micha Karavasteva (mining and metallurgy) is 405th, and the prime minister of Bulgaria Academician Nikolay Denkov (chemical physics) is 678th
