Bulgaria's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mariya Gabriel and the Secretary of State for European Affairs of France Laurence Boone discussed the war in Ukraine, the attacks of Hamas against Israel, as well as the enlargement of the EU at a meeting in Sofia.

"We condemn in the strongest terms the Hamas attack on Israel, the huge loss of innocent lives and the taking of hostages," Gabriel said after the meeting. She emphasized that Bulgaria is monitoring the situation for possible migrant pressure.

The two interlocutors emphasized that Bulgaria and France will continue to support Ukraine - its sovereignty and territorial integrity, as long as necessary.
