Israel's ultimatum to evacuate the residents of the Gaza Strip by Saturday could trigger a new wave of refugees, but there is currently no direct threat to Bulgaria, Prime Minister Nikolay Denkov said at a briefing.
In the medium and long term, among the risks for Bulgaria is a possible influx of refugees, Denkov noted but he clarified that if there is such a migrant wave, "it will first be directed to other countries, not necessarily in the direction of Bulgaria." Another problem could be possible obstacles to oil supplies, which could affect gas prices. "We have to see how the situation will develop, at the moment no one can predict what exactly will happen," the PM stressed.
