The draft act on the euro is in the final stage of preparation, Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank, Dimitar Radev, told BTA on the sidelines of the Annual Meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in the Moroccan city of Marrakech.

In order for the law to be adopted, however, Bulgaria must first receive confirmation for its entry into the Eurozone from January 1, 2025, Finance Minister Assen Vassilev, who also participated in the meeting, pointed out.

"The law is purely technical – it reads that in all laws the currency is changed from lev to euro. This was also done in Croatia,” Vassilev also said. The minister is optimistic that this country will become part of the Eurozone on January 1, 2025.
