Westinghouse Electric Company has signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with five Bulgarian companies that will participate in the construction of the AP1000 reactor of the American company at the Kozloduy Nuclear Power Plant site, as well as in other regional projects.

Energy Minister Rumen Radev said that building a local supply chain in the long term is extremely important for Bulgaria's national interest.

Westinghouse representatives pointed out that cooperation with Kozloduy NPP will create a large ecosystem of local nuclear engineering companies that will become the backbone of the future nuclear industry based on this technology across Europe.
