Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum set up in Sofia

A Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum was set up in Sofia. The memorandum on its establishment was signed by representatives of the constitutional judicatures of Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Turkey and Montenegro.

The forum is focusing on access to constitutional justice. Representatives of the constitutional judicatures of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Romania and Croatia are also taking part in the discussions. The forum is attended also by Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice of the European Union, Marko Bošnjak, Vice President of the European Court of Human Rights and European Commission Vice President Věra Jourová.

Through various initiatives, the Balkan Constitutional Courts Forum will be a place for an exchange of good practices, ideas and experience in constitutional law, the organizers say.
