Exit polls are an additional guarantee of fair elections

BNR's partner in covering the elections is Gallup International Balkan. The agency's director, Parvan Simeonov, said that on election day the pollsters would conduct an exit poll and a parallel vote count.

He urged voters to respond to the agency's interviewers, as exit polls are an additional indicator by which the fairness and objectivity of elections can be judged. "To the extent that election day depends on the voters, we have no concerns, but to the extent that it depends on the politicians, we do. Politicians could overreact hysterically to any election day result or turn of events. Slowly but surely, Bulgaria is sinking into a discrediting of the electoral process. This is sad, but also extremely undeserved," Simeonov added.
