Bulgaria has sold €2.3 billion in bonds on the foreign markets with repayment terms of 7.5 and 12.5 years, Minister of Finance Assen Vasilev has reported. "The emission was extremely successful. There was nearly 3 times more supply than we expected to find on the market. It is much cheaper than Hungary and Romania where the interest rate reaches 3.3%. The debt is planned in the budget and it will be used mainly for refinancing," Vassilev added. According to the state budget act, the country can take on a new debt of 3.8 billion euros for 2023.
