Bulgaria's Minister of Finance Assen Vassilev presented the draft of the state budget for 2024. It foresees a GDP growth of 3.2% and an average annual inflation of 4.8%, and according to estimates, it should fall to 3% at the end of 2024.

A minimum salary of 933 BGN /477.04 EUR/, an increase in pensions by 11% according to the Swiss rule, are drafted. Higher health care costs due to the increased average wage are also accounted for.

Defence spending is just over 2% of the GDP. Revenues of BGN 77.6 billion (EUR 39.68 billion) and expenditures of BGN 83.8 billion (EUR 42.85 billion) are expected.

The public debt is expected to remain more or less at the same levels as a percentage of the GDP, or 23.8%.

The discussion of the budget of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation and its adoption by the Council of Ministers is pending, after which it will be voted on in the parliament./MI
