The National Assembly has rejected the proposal of GERB, which was supported by DPS, for abolishing the derogation for imports of Russian oil into Bulgaria within three days. As a sign of protest, the MPs of the GERB and DPS parliamentary groups left the plenary hall immediately before the vote of no confidence in the government.

A meeting of the Security Council was held in the Council of Ministers this morning. Later, Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov announced that Lukoil- Neftochim could switch to processing non-Russian oil no sooner than March 1, 2024. March is also the month when a rotation of prime ministers is expected as the place of Nikolai Denkov /PP-DB/ will be taken by Mariya Gabriel /GERB-SDS/.
