More than 54% of companies are moderately optimistic about a better 2024. By comparison, a year earlier, 41% were optimistic about 2023. These are the results for Bulgaria of the Eurochambres Economic Survey 2024, conducted in partnership with the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The survey covers 43 000 companies from 27 European countries, among them 795 companies from Bulgaria, BNR`s Radio Sofia reported. The positive expectations of Bulgarian businesses are influenced to a large extent by hopes of receiving funds under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, experts said. Domestic sales are expected to increase, while sales to foreign markets and employment rates are expected to remain stable. Among the main concerns of Bulgarian companies are the lack of qualified staff, as well as labour and energy costs.
