The interconnector will allow for a safer and more stable gas supply from different sources, most of all Azerbaijan, said Serbia’s Energy Minister Dubravka Handanovic, after inspecting the project which is of strategic importance to Serbia. “The Serbia-Bulgaria gas pipeline is the first major energy project to have been completed on schedule. I am expecting the gas pipeline to be put into trial operation by the end of the week,” Minister Handanovic said. The official inauguration of the gas pipeline will be attended by the presidents of Bulgaria and Azerbaijan.
