“Our dreams need your support”. That is the appeal by the Bulgarian school Ivan Vazov in Paris, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The teaching staff and the parents’ board are calling for donations for their charity initiatives. The idea is to organize an international literary contest “Magic plume” for works in the Bulgarian language, for a song and a video based on the poem Vazovcheta, also dedicated to the Bulgarian language.
The funds raised in the campaign by the Sunday school in Paris will also go to organize a big jubilee concert on 19 May, 2024, dedicated to the patron of the school – Ivan Vazov. As the teachers and the parents from the school say, to them the title – Vazovcheta (derived from the name of Ivan Vazov) is a synonym of the inspired individuals who contribute to the preservation of the Bulgarian language around the world. Hence the idea of a song and a video that can be popularized among the Bulgarian communities in the world.
The text of the poem Vazovcheta was written during the journalism and creative writing classes at the Sunday school, and the music is by Georgi Zaykov, also a staunch supporter of this mission.
