Residents of the towns Petrich and Razlog (Southwestern Bulgaria) are to welcome the New Year with mummer festivals.
The town of Petrich plays host to the traditional Stanchinarski Games. Mummer groups comprising more than 1,000 participants are to present various characters, masks and horo chain dances.Tradition has it that only men participate in these games.
