Bulgarian Agriculture Minister Kiril Vatev held an online meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Mykola Solsky to discuss breaches in the licensing regime for exports of sunflower, rapeseed, maize and wheat. According to Vatev, there have been isolated attempts to circumvent the licensing requirements through imports of black oilseed sunflower, rapeseed and maize seed. Solsky promised that Ukraine would take action within two weeks and that the offending companies would be banned from exporting.

Bulgaria's agriculture minister reported an increase in sunflower imports by barge on the Danube in recent weeks. He warned his Ukrainian counterpart that if this rate of imports continued, the limit needed to meet the needs of Bulgarian processors would be reached. This will lead to a halt in imports to protect Bulgarian growers.
